The filter works on the principle of a pressure vessel with a hand pump. Also included is a 1.5 m hose that allows you to take water directly from a natural source (river, lake, etc.). This gives you easier access to water without getting your hands wet and allows you to filter larger quantities of water at once into other prepared containers. The filter can be screwed directly onto most standard wide-mouth bottles (CamelBak, etc.) and can filter up to 2000 liters of water at a rate of about 1.2 l/min.
