Tactical belts are available in different designs that offer specific functions depending on the application and needs. Here are the common types of belts:

Trouser belt:

Trouser belts are designed for everyday use and light tactical applications. They are often made of sturdy material such as nylon or leather and offer a simple but sturdy fastening. Trouser belts are narrower and lighter than combat belts and are well suited for everyday wear and understated wear.

Combat Belt:

Combat belts are specially designed for tactical use and offer attachment options for equipment such as magazine pouches, pouches and holsters. They are wider and more heavily padded than trouser belts to make carrying heavy equipment comfortable for longer periods of time. The combat belt is ideal for military and tactical use where equipment must be quickly accessible.

Police and Executive Belts:

Intended for use by police and security forces, as well as civilian executive use, these belts combine tactical design with a low-profile, professional look. Police and executive belts offer attachment points for lightweight equipment such as radios or handcuffs, but are more discreet than combat belts.

Inner and Outer Belt:

The Inner-Outer Belt system consists of two belts: an inner belt and an outer belt. The inner belt is pulled through the trouser loops and provides a Velcro surface to which the outer belt is attached. The outer belt carries equipment such as holsters and pouches and can be quickly removed or put on as needed without changing the basic position of the inner belt. This system is particularly popular with tactical units because it combines a stable hold and rapid readiness for use.

Combat belts offer more stability and attachment options for tactical equipment and are more comfortable during long missions with a lot of weight due to their padding. Trouser belts, on the other hand, are lighter and better suited for everyday, unobtrusive use.

The right size tactical belt depends on your waist size and how you wear it. Many belts come in different lengths and with adjustable fasteners. Make sure the belt is tight enough to hold your gear in place, but not too tight to restrict movement.
