Tactical hearing protection protects hearing in noisy environments while allowing the wearer to hear important sounds such as speech and ambient noise. It is particularly popular in military and police operations or in shooting sports and is designed to protect hearing from continuous noise without affecting communication.

Passive hearing protection systems:

These systems consist of simple earmuffs or earplugs that do not contain any electronics and reduce noise levels through their materials. They provide basic protection but without amplifying ambient noise.

Electronic hearing protection (active hearing protection):

Electronic hearing protection systems are equipped with microphones and speakers that muffle loud sounds but amplify quiet sounds. This allows the wearer to hear ambient noise and conversations while being protected from sudden noises such as gunshots.

Communication-capable hearing protection:

These systems integrate radio and PTT functions so that they serve as a hearing protection and communication system simultaneously. They are ideal for tactical operations as they combine hands-free communication and hearing protection.

Ear cups and pads should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth and dried in the air. Electronic components and the PTT system should be stored in a dry place and protected from moisture. If the headset is used intensively, replacement pads for the hearing protection can be purchased.
