After each use, the drinking system should be thoroughly rinsed with water and dried. For a more thorough cleaning, there are special brushes for the hose and bladder. It is recommended to occasionally clean the system with a mild cleaning solution and let it dry completely to prevent mold from forming.

It is not recommended to clean drinking systems in the dishwasher, as high temperatures and aggressive cleaning agents can damage the material. Hand washing is the safest method.

The lifespan of a drinking system depends on use and care. If well cared for, it can last for several years. However, it is advisable to replace the drinking system if the material becomes brittle, odors develop or the drinking valve becomes leaky.
