Holsters are classified according to security levels that affect the protection and security of the weapon. Here are the common security classes:

Level I (single security):

Here, only the tension of the holster keeps the weapon secure. Ideal for concealed carry or operations where a quick draw speed is required. However, they are less secure in the event of unwanted access.

Level II (double security):

In addition to passive voltage protection, there is an additional safety feature such as a thumb strap or snap lock. Level II holsters offer more protection and are often suitable for law enforcement officers who need quick access and increased security.

Level III (triple security):

These holsters have several safety features, such as a mechanical lever, a thumb button and a tensioning device. They offer a high level of protection against unwanted access and are often used by police and security forces who work in dangerous situations.

Level IV (maximum protection):

These holsters have even more complex security features and are designed for extreme threats. They offer maximum protection against unauthorized access, but the draw speed is slower. Such holsters are often used in particularly high-risk operations or in busy public areas.

A belt holster can be worn concealed under loose clothing, but is less discreet than a specially designed concealed holster.

Thigh holsters and belt holsters usually offer the quickest access to the weapon, as they are attached to the body within easy reach. These types of holsters are ideal for tactical use.
