The Carinthia Defence 6 is built for long-term use in winter. In addition to the 3-layer sandwich construction, a fourth G-Loft insulation layer is added in the foot area. The zipper is perfectly covered by a heavily filled cover bead on the top and a narrower, thermo-sewn cover bead on the bottom. The cover bead between the zippers ensures optimal insulation in this sensitive area. The Shellproof outer skin, which is not sewn in, provides optimal protection against moisture and cold. The micro coating makes the sleeping bag breathable but absolutely windproof. Three further points for the Defense 6: Higher and permanent thermal insulation: improved loft that does not decrease over time = higher and long-term thermal insulation performance. The above-average volume of the G-Loft insulation is created by the permanent three-dimensional spiral curling and a special coating of the individual hollow fibers that reduces friction between the fibers. Low weight: no use of materials other than polyester. G-Loft is a 100% pure polyester compound that is thermally compressed into "nests" at certain points. Smaller pack size: better compressibility = smaller pack size. Since the optimized bulkiness of the G-Loft insulation results in increased air inclusion, which escapes again with each compression, a handy, small pack size is guaranteed.
