While the original DarkVault® remains Thyrm's general-purpose case for sensitive gear, the DarkVault 2.0 Critical Gear Case is specifically designed for smartphone use in harsh environments. Simply attach the DarkVault 2.0 to your plate carrier or chest rig for easy and quick access to your device for navigation, ballistics information, communications, or other purposes. Thyrm also designed the DarkVault 2.0 and its viewing window to work with most smartphones on the market with standard phone cases.
The improved blocking version also reduces the electromagnetic signature by up to 110dB, significantly reducing vulnerability to geolocation or data access.

Signal Blocking:
The concept behind the DarkVault Blocking version is to make your smartphone significantly harder to detect and/or access without having to completely enclose it in a Faraday bag or turn it off. Thyrm's proprietary polymer construction reduces signal transmission by up to 110 dB. Bluetooth devices can pass through the DarkVault case because Bluetooth has a higher frequency (but a limited range). This allows the use of mesh antenna systems like the goTenna Pro and Otto Lynq Pro in addition to most headphones.
